2013 NHRA: NHRA Welcomes Three New Facilities To NHRA Member Track Network
NHRA announced today the addition of three new facilities to the NHRA Member Track Network: Northland Dodge Motorsports Park, Prince George, B.C., Canada; Central Alberta Raceways, Rimbey, Alberta, Canada; and Rocky Mountain Raceways in West Valley City, Utah.

“It is a pleasure to have these three facilities come on board as part of the NHRA Member Track network,” said Josh Peterson, vice president racing administration, NHRA. “It’s great to have Rocky Mountain Raceways back on board as part of the Pacific Division and the addition of the two tracks in Canada help to expand NHRA’s presence in the Northwest Division.”
As NHRA sanctioned tracks, the three facilities will be eligible to offer racers a variety of NHRA racing opportunities, including the NHRA Summit Racing Series, the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League and the NHRA Drags: Street Legal Style presented by AAA. Additionally, the tracks have the opportunity to host NHRA’s specialty events including the National DRAGSTER Challenge, NHRA Summit King of the Track, and NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League Challenge.
Northland Motorsports Park (www.northlandmotorsportspark.com) is under new ownership with a variety of racing activities including a quarter-mile dragstrip and a 2.7 km (1.67 mile) road course. Central Alberta Raceway (www.caraceways.ca) is a new 80-acre multi-purpose motorsport facility with the quarter-mile dragstrip expected to open this summer. Rocky Mountain Raceways (www.rmrracing.com) is a multiuse facility and will host a round of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series as well as the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series.
“The facility is all about the Northern B.C. community,” said Brent Marshall of Northland Dodge Motorsports Park. “So many local businesses are involved with us and help us out, which enables us to give back to the community. We’re unique in that all event proceeds go to local charities. I truly appreciate all the great support we get and being a part of the NHRA family helps bring it all together.”
“Central Alberta Raceways is comprised of a dedicated group of car enthusiasts that have worked extremely hard with Rimbey Kinsmen and the Town of Rimbey,” said Travis Jaffray of Central Alberta Raceways. “With the help of the community, many volunteers, corporate and private donations, 2013 will mark the first season where all four tracks will be operational (quarter-mile Drag Strip, 3/8-mile Dirt Oval, 200-foot Mud Bogg and Motocross). We are committed to building a premium motor sports park to be enjoyed by motorsport enthusiasts like ourselves for years to come.”
“We are so happy to have Rocky Mountain Raceways back as an NHRA Member Track,” said Mike Eames of Rocky Mountain Raceway. “Our racers are glad and I know that between the Heritage Series event and our Division 7 Lucas Oil Series event that we will put on a great show for our fabulous Utah racing fans.”
