Anstie Fit For Oakland Supercross

Rockstar Energy Suzuki Europe's Max Anstie will be fit for this weekend's fourth round of the AMA/ FIM World Supercross at Oakland Coliseum in California after a heavy crash at last weekend's Anaheim race.

The 19 year old, who has been out riding and training on his RM-Z250 this week, was given as medical check-up after his crash in the 250cc Main Event and was diagnosed with heavy bruising on his shoulder and arm.

Anstie had started the Anaheim event well, qualifying fifth in his heat race and getting 10th gate pick for the Main. But, similar to the last two races, he got caught-up in one of the first-lap incidents and couldn't avoid a pile-up up just after the step-up, step-down section. He restarted his RM-Z250 and rode the next section, but with a painful arm he decided to pull out of the race to avoid further physical damage.

Said Anstie: "We had worked really hard all week and made some real improvements. It was coming together all day and we were riding solid entering the night show. Throughout the heat race I showed we had what it took to run inside the top five and heading into the Main I felt confident.

"Unfortunately, shortly after the start, there was a big crash and one of the upside down bikes clipped me. I just got banged up a little bit. It was unfortunate as we had made such good progress the previous week, we were getting things figured out and I was looking forward to having a good race. But I have been working with my doctor and will be back to 100% to have a good race in Oakland this Saturday. "
