There are 31 days left before the Feb. 24, 2013 Daytona 500; hence, today’s number is:

31: The number of victories posted by Jack Ingram in what is now the NASCAR Nationwide Series—fifth most all-time behind Kyle Busch (51), Mark Martin (49), Kevin Harvick (39) and Carl Edwards (38). Ingram won two titles in what was then then Busch Series, in 1982 and 1985, to go with a pair of championships in the series that preceded it, the Late Model Sportsman Division (1972 and 1974). Noted for his prowess on the short tracks, Ingram made only 19 NASCAR Sprint Cup starts in his career and only one at Daytona. In July 1981, he finished 37th in his only Cup start at the 2.5-mile track.
