Hickory Limited Late Model Champ Shane Lee Appearing At Checkers Race Night This Friday
Hickory Motor Speedway's 19-year-old Limited Late Model Champ Shane Lee of Newton, N.C. will join NASCAR Stars Regan Smith, Michael Annett and over 20 other top racers this Friday night at the 7th Annual Charlotte Checkers Race Night presented by Hyundai.

Shane will be a part of the 45-minute autograph session that begins at 6pm in the Time Warner Cable Arena's main concourse. The Checkers will face off against the Abottsford Heat beginning at 7pm and all proceeds from the evening will be donated to charities.
"I'm looking forward to being a part of the autograph session," Shane said. "I'm thankful for the opportunity to join so many other top drivers and meet some awesome race fans. The Checkers are always fun to watch and I hope that all of my fans will come out and support this night so the team can raise a lot of money for the charities they support."
Friday night's meet and greet is not the only thing that has the racer excited.
"We're building a new car for this year and we're going to race in both the Limited Late Model and the NASCAR Late Model Stock divisions. There are some tough competitors at Hickory in the Late Models and I know I will have to step my game up to be able to beat them, but I trust my team and my Crew Chief Dexter Canipe to help me get to that next level. We're going to focus on the Zloop Series races at Hickory with the Late Model Stock so I can get used to that division."
