2013 Daytona Rolex 24: Grand Am LIVE Update - Yellow, Fog Delay

It took about 10 minutes for a thick morning fog to engulf the 2013 Grand-Am opener - the 51st Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona as we head towards daybreak at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida.
While the drivers ran under the fog early, it presented problems for spotters, and officials to track the on-track action. Finally, the Grand-Am series was forced into a full fledged yellow due to the morning fog.
It should also be noted that the fog will create dampness on the track the longer it hangs around. The cars will run with wind shield wipers behind the pace car.
Previous fog delays have run over two and a half hours, including one of two hours and 44 minutes in the last couple of years.
The race started at on Saturday at 3:30 PM Eastern standard time, and will continue until Sunday at 3:30 PM EST. We are currently on lap 473 of a 3.560-mile road course circuit. We've had 11 cautions for 68 laps. 55 cars started the event. The DP class has had 11 different leaders with five DP cars still on the lead lap.
The skies continue to be rain free with temperatures in the low-50s.
