The Frankie Files: Montecalvo looks back at Daytona
BY FRANKIE MONTECALVO
I spent the week leading up to Daytona getting ready for our first race of the season by watching past race footage and getting myself mentally prepared for the race. This year marked my third season racing at Daytona and second time with Multimatic Motorsports.
My first race at Daytona was in Porsche during a historic race and then in the Ford Mustang BOSS 302 with Multimatic. In addition, Daytona is on iRacing, so I did some simulator work to re-familiarize myself with all the nuances of the circuit. The more mentally prepared I am heading into a race, the easier it is to find the speed on the track once I’m in the race car.
