Dodge/RCH Racing Post-Race Quotes - Round 5 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series - Anaheim 3
BROC TICKLE (No. 20 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki Z450) Finished Ninth
TALK ABOUT YOUR MAIN EVENT AND THE NINTH-PLACE FINISH: “A solid run for the No. 20 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki Z450. I felt strong. The track was really tricky. The design was pretty basic but it was hard to get a flow going. We’ll take the ninth-place finish. I want more. We’re gaining in rider points and we want to keep moving inside the top 10.”

TRACK CONDITIONS LOOKED PRETTY SLICK AND NOT A LOT OF PLACES TO PASS. WAS IT A MATTER OF ‘LESS WAS MORE’ TONIGHT ON THE BIKE? “For sure. We’re going to get better. You had to be patient and not push too hard because the track really got slick. Rolling the center for the corners was key and you had to find a good rhythm while still finding speed on the bike to run fast tonight.”
WAS IT ALL ABOUT CORNER SPEED TONIGHT? “Absolutely. It was all about cleaning your corners up and carrying all your momentum through the corners. That’s what I struggled with a bit and that’s what caused me to pump up a bit in the Main. Around Lap 14 I got a little (arm) pumped up and tried to make it go away and just got tight. I just didn’t get loose late in the race. We’ll keep plugging away. I want more. I don’t want ninth or 10th. I want top-fives and podiums.”
YOU WERE 11TH FASTEST IN OVERALL PRACTICE IN THE AFTERNOON SESSIONS. WAS THE TRACK DIFFICULT TO GET A HOLD OF EARLY? “Yeah. Everybody was close on time. Everybody was fast tonight. We kept plugging away at it. We just need to keep working on the little things during the week and try to apply it on Saturday.”
YOU HAD A BETTER START IN THE MAIN EVENT TONIGHT? “Yeah, it was better. We’ve been working really hard at it and tonight we saw some results. My Heat race start wasn’t too good, but I broke great in the Main. On a track like we had tonight breaking from the gate was really big.”
YOUR HEAT RACE WASN’T EASY AND YOU HAD TO COME BACK FROM 14TH TO MAKE THE MAIN. CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR HEAT? “I was a little disappointed on how my Heat race turned out. I was really good in practice and just struggled a bit in my Heat.”
KYLE PARTRIDGE (No. 85 Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki Z450) DNQ
YOU WERE SIXTH WITH ONLY TWO LAPS REMAINING IN YOUR HEAT RACE AND FINISHED 18TH. WHAT HAPPENED? “It was a bummer. I felt great in the Heat. I ran up front for a while and learned some things. I got a great start and on Lap 6 when I slide the bike out right after the finish line. The track was really slippery tonight. The track was really tacky but had rocks on top of it, which make it like riding on gravel. By the time I got going I was out of it.”
YOU WERE CHARGING HARD IN THE LCQ RUNNING THIRD WHEN IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEBODY HIT THE BRAKES IN FRONT OF YOU AND COLLECTED HALF THE FIELD. “Yeah. I started all the way on the outside of the LCQ but came out of the gate with just a gnarly start. I got a great start considering where I started and just got put down right after the whoop section. Two guys got together in front of me and just smashed right into my face and arm and hand, which took me off the bike. There wasn’t really anything that I could do.”
YOU WERE FAST IN BOTH PRACTICE SESSIONS EARLY IN THE DAY. YOUR RESULTS DON’T SHOW HOW FAST YOU WERE TODAY: “Yeah, my Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki Z450 was fast all day. I’m grateful for everyone on the RCH team for giving me the opportunity to ride this week. My speed was really good all day. I felt really, really good on the bike. It’s just too bad that things didn’t work out tonight.”
