Volkswagen Dubai And DUPLAYS Launch Design Competition To Kick-Start New Sponsorship Deal

DUPLAYS and Al Nabooda Automobiles, the exclusive Volkswagen dealer for Dubai and the Northern Emirates, are calling on all creative types for a new competition to design the coolest fleet of cars on the Dubai roads.

The competition is being launched to mark a new sponsorship deal which sees Al Nabooda Automobiles lending its support to DUPLAYS, the company connecting people who share a passion for sport and activities throughout Dubai and the surrounding areas, with a fleet of new 2013 Volkswagen cars, including the Touareg and Polo Sedan.

Open to amateurs and professionals alike, with no age limits, the competition has set the challenge to design the wrapping of the new Volkswagen cars which will be driven around town by the DUPLAYS head office team. The designs must reflect the Volkswagen brand as well as DUPLAYS values: playing sport while having fun and being social and inclusive.

In a bid to support local, homegrown talent, Al Nabooda Automobiles and DUPLAYS will approach local universities to encourage design students to take part. The winner, who will be decided by a judging panel comprising Ravi Bhusari, co-founder of DUPLAYS, Bisher Yousfi, Marketing Manager, Volkswagen Dubai and Dubai One television presenter Tom Urquhart, will win a Volkswagen-DUPLAYS gift bag and a weekend away in a five-star hotel, which they will drive to in a new 2013 Scirocco R.

The top ten submissions will be revealed through the DUPLAYS Facebook page in mid-February, with the winner’s final design being revealed at an event at the Al Nabooda Volkswagen Showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road in mid-March.

“The work that DUPLAYS does in the UAE has a great impact on the social lives of residents. It brings people together, encourages them to live active, healthy lifestyles and opens their eyes to the opportunities lying on our doorsteps. We are proud to support them in an official capacity,” said Thierry Seys, Volkswagen General Manager at Al Nabooda Automobiles.

“Their customers are typically the same people who choose Volkswagen cars – families and individuals who enjoy active social lives and make the most of their free time.

“We are looking forward to seeing the creative talent that is out there during this competition, and especially hope to receive a high number of entries from UAE residents.”

Ravi Bhusari, co-founder of DUPLAYS, added, “The support we have received from Volkswagen Al Nabooda Automobiles has been instrumental to the development of the company and our growth in recent years. The green, white and black wrapped VW cars have been a great way for expats and Emiratis alike to discover our sports services and we are excited to see some fresh ideas and the creative heights of our community.”
