SR2 Motorsports To Play In Team Boom Golf Tournament To Benefit Injured Georgia Child
Blake Koch, driver of the SR² Motorsports Toyota Camry in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, will be doing plenty of driving prior to Daytona Speedweeks, but not the kind you may expect. Koch will take to the links of Chateau Elan in Braselton, Ga. on Saturday, February 9 to support the family of Tripp Halstead, who was critically injured when a tree limb struck his head last October. Koch will be a part of the Team BOOM golf tournament, with 100% of all proceeds going to Bill and Stacy Halstead to be used to keep Stacy by Tripp's bedside constantly during his long recovery.

Three months after two-year-old Tripp Halstead was brain injured, from a tree limb falling on him in his hometown of Winder during a storm, he is still in the hospital, battling to recover. He is at Children's Health Care of Atlanta at Scottish Rite. The Halstead family is hopeful that Tripp will be released next week, following a surgery to have a pump fixed within his stomach.
SR² Motorsports is based in Buford, Ga. The race team was quick to offer their support and have entered a team to play in the tournament. Joining Koch will be Jason Sciavicco, team owner, and Benny Gordon, general manager and crew chief. Koch is excited to participate in the tournament. He hopes that the tournament assists the Halstead family in Tripp's road to recovery.
"This is a really special cause," Koch said. "My heart goes out to Tripp and his family and I'm excited that the community is rallying together to help them. He's a great kid and I hope he's back to feeling 100% soon. For anyone that can't be in Georgia at the golf tournament, there is a Team BOOM website that also accepts donations for the family. Any amount of support, no matter how big or small is greatly appreciated and will make a huge difference in their lives."
SR² Motorsports will have a show car at the tournament. Koch and Gordon will be available to sign autographs.
