Superstars World Champions Honoured In Adria At The 2012 Superstars Sporting Awards
It's been an unforgettable day for the SUPERSTARS WORLD at Adria International Raceway. In addition to the "Kick-Off Day" test, with several teams and drivers lining-up on-track for the first time in 2013, the Italian venue also hosted the “2012 SUPERSTARS SPORTING AWARDS”, the official gala dinner and prize ceremony for the series featuring more than 160 guests.

Many world-renowned names in motorsports showed up to animate the evening including Alberto Sabbatini, Chief Editor of the series' media partner, Autosprint Magazine, joining the top host, Luigi Vignando. Maurizio Flammini, President of SUPERSTARS WORLD OF RACING, was also present.
The night started with the prize-giving ceremony of SUPERSTARS and GTSPRINT. Swede Johan Kristoffersson virtually received the main award by sending a video message from Bathurst, Australia, where he's taking part in the venue's popular 12-hour race. He thanked his team, Audi Sport Italia and his fans, saying that he will join them at Monza for the start of the 2013 season. Audi Sport's Helmut Poche was poised to physically receive the trophy and was also a very welcomed guest.
More SUPERSTARS talent went on-stage including former F.1 drivers Tonio Liuzzi, who ended the season as a runner-up in his manufacturer-supported Mercedes C63 AMG and Gianni Morbidelli (Audi Sport Italia), while Thomas Biagi was awarded for his third place in the International standings, on a BMW M3.
Andrea Palma was the man of the night in GTSPRINT and took the main prize for winning six races en-route to the overall and GTS2 titles. He was followed by Mario Cordoni, who also took the spoils in the GTS3 category. Third-place overall finisher and GTS2 runner-up Glauco Solieri completed the GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES ranks.
Nico Caldarola, who brought on-track the brand-new Mercedes C63 AMG Coupé to win the 2012 Star Driver competition, was also honoured as well as Gianni Giudici, who celebrated his first 40 years in racing. Team BMW Dinamic and Black Team were awarded for having cruised to top respectively in the SUPERSTARS and GTSPRINT teams' standings.
The night continued with a talk-show involving journalists, drivers and team owners including Simone Petri, the owner of Petri Corse. His team is set to bring the Porsche brand back on-track with two Panamera racecars.
The SUPERSTARS WORLD is now ready for a stellar 2013 season opener at Monza, on the 7th of April.
