Midas Celebrates 25-Years And Partners With Tasman Motorsports Group
Tasman Motorsports Group (TMG) has announced that automotive service and repair franchise chain, Midas will come onboard with the team for the 2013 BNT V8 SuperTourer Championship.

Midas is a worldwide automotive service and repair franchise, with workshops throughout New Zealand. That means most Midas shops are locally owned and operated. Midas franchises have been servicing the New Zealand community with expert car repairs since 1988 which will see the brand celebrate 25 years in New Zealand this year.
TMG Team Principal, Steve Horne says he is excited about the partnership with Midas.
“Midas is a very well known brand in New Zealand and internationally and has strong links with motorsport,” says Horne.
“To be able to align ourselves with a trusted automotive brand, and one that consumers trust is great.”
For the 2013 BNT V8 SuperTourer season and in conjunction with Midas, TMG have launched a unique programme for Midas mechanics and apprentices.
“Our Midas mechanics have a passion for motoring and motorsport. At each round, TMG and Midas will invite along one Midas mechanic to experience racing from behind the pit wall,” says Midas General Manager, Henry Epskamp.
“They will have the opportunity to become part of the TMG race team, work on the car, and have a ground level view of a race weekend from inside a race team, it will be a once in a life time experience.”
“We want all our franchise staff and owners to be a part of this unique programme, and it is a great way to give something back and to celebrate 25 great years in the New Zealand market.”
During the course of 2013, Midas will also promote some initiatives to incorporate Midas customers.
The Tasman Motorsports Group ‘Valvoline Ford’ will compete in the 2013 season with drivers Daniel Gaunt & Andrew Waite. Round 1 of the 2013 BNT V8 SuperTourers Championship will be held at Hampton Downs, February 16/17.
