Jeff Wyatt Joins GT Cup Championship

Jeff Wyatt is the latest newcomer to the GT Cup Championship. Jeff, 48 from Milton Keynes, will be contesting the 19 race series in his Geoff Steel Racing BMW M3 currently being built especially for the Championship. He chose to join the GT Cup Championship because of the format and organization.

Jeff’s racing history includes driving in the British GT, Britcar, VLN and Dutch Supercar Challenge series with his career highlights including a Nurburgring 24 Hour class win and second in class at the Spa-Francorchamps 24 Hours.

Motorsport has been in Jeff’s blood for many years – his father built the vehicle bridge over Silverstone’s GP circuit.

Jeff Wyatt:
“ I spoke to Marc and his colleagues at the Autosport show and was impressed with all their enthusiasm and professionalism in equal measure. Me and my sponsors rattled the toy cupboard doors .... we couldn't run to a 458 but we reckon a new M3 built and run in the GTA class, with all of Geoff Steels experience, is the way to go. I haven't done much racing these past few seasons, but am looking forward to getting stuck in once the cobwebs are brushed away! Looks like my peripatetic ways have been tamed for 2013.”

Marc Haynes, GT Cup Championship:
“We’re delighted to have Jeff joining us for 2013. His enthusiasm and experience are something that will fit well with our championship. The grid is shaping up to have a good mix of cars and drivers. The changes to the format have made the series more appealing to drivers so I’m pleased that we are heading in the right direction. I believe that we offer unrivalled value for money to drivers looking to enjoy their super cars and racing.”
