Mike Di Meglio Had A Positive First Test In Valencia
The three days of IRTA tests have just ended in Valencia, where the JiR Team made its debut with the Frenchman and former World Champion Mike Di Meglio.

It has been a first test for the new team that has been engaged in the definition of the basic set up during the nine sessions that went smoothly, during which there has been time to test some new details such as the FCC clutch, which is standard equipment given to all Moto2 participants.
The performance level of the class is shown to be very high again, meaning it will be a hard fought 2013, even if we’d have to wait for the official engine delivery that will happen in the last IRTA test session in Jerez (March 18th to 21st). Only then will we have significant timing that will reveal the real potential of the riders.
The JiR Team will now be moving to Almeria to proceed with the development plan that will focus on some aerodynamic issues and on the rider’s position on the bike, thanks to the arrival of new parts that have been specifically developed by DOMINO and DR.K, beside an evolution of the ZARD exhaust that will be more suitable for the long straight of Qatar, the opening event of the season on April 7th. After Almeria, Team and rider will stay in Spain for the second IRTA test session in Jerez (February 19th to 21st).
Gianluca Montiron - JiR Team Principal
These three days have been important to start joining together the new team with the rider, they helped us to regain our confidence with the working plan and the track. We developed many technical novelties that involve different aspects of our machine and Mike proved to be a sensible rider, now we need to run kilometers to let the rider understand our bike’s characteristics before deliberating on the new solutions. We’re putting the most effort in at the start since the very beginning with a solid methodology proven also by the fact that we have enrolled some of TSR’s technicians that will stay with our team for the whole pre-season testing tour. Obviously we’re not following only the technical aspect, right in these days we’re defining some important partnerships that are allowing us the chance to look at the future positively.
Mike Di Meglio - JiR Team Rider
I got a positive impression by the welcome I had from the team. I have the feeling to be in a highly professional and competent environment and this let me work at ease being aware that the result is the priority. The machine is still all to be discovered but the first test really impressed me in a positive way, even if it is very different to all the machines I’ve ridden before. Just as an example I had a very good feeling from the front end. I managed to run many km and to fulfill a good part of the planned work, now we head toward a new track where we will look for the needed verifications to confirm some technical choices. Our aim is to deliver a basic rider position and a basic set up with which we can put ourselves in the best condition to run with efficiency in the next IRTA tests at Jerez. I’ve noticed the extreme attention paid to technical details that confirmed my good choice of team and machine for this year.
