2013 Daytona 500 (Duel): Chevrolet NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Recap
For the second time during the 2013 Daytona Speed Weeks, Kevin Harvick took the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet SS to Victory Lane. After winning Saturday night's Sprint Unlimited, Harvick repeated the process in the first of the Budweiser Duel at Daytona Qualifying Races.
Starting from the 13th position on the grid, Harvick patiently worked his way to the front of the 23-car field, taking the lead for the final time on lap 42 of the 60-lap race. This was the first victory in a qualifying race for Harvick, who won the Daytona 500 in 2007.
Other Chevrolet SS finishers in the first Duel were: Juan Pablo Montoya, No. 42 Target Chevrolet SS - third; Jimmie Johnson, No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet SS - fourth; Kurt Busch, No. 78 Furniture Row Chevrolet SS - fifth; Tony Stewart, No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 Chevrolet SS - sixth and Dale Earnhardt, Jr., No. 88 National Guard Chevrolet SS - ninth.
