A Lcaniz Testing Wsr ‐ Day 1 A Lot Of Work For Zeta Corse

Zeta Corse completed the team's maiden run in the Formula Renault 3.5 ranks at the Motorland A ragón track in A lcaniz by entering the first official test of the season for the Renault‐powered championship. In Day 1 the team, managed by Claudio Corradini, fielded cars for Mihai Marinescu and Daniel Zampieri. The test started in tough conditions with cold and rainy weather welcoming the drivers on‐track.

Only in the closing minutes of the first session the track became sui‐ table for pushing, with a dry line emerging. Zampieri ended up in a positive 13th place followed by Marinescu. In the afternoon, the asphalt got completely dry and after the needed set‐up changes Marinescu and Zampieri completed several laps. Unfortunately, a gearbox issues ham‐ pered the Romanian's run, and forced him to settle for 22nd.

Zampieri progressively improved his laptimes, but the lack of confiden‐ ce with the car after a season in GT competition except for a WSR outing at Silverstone did not enable to drop under 1'43"304, pushing him to 26th.
