Draco Test At Alcaniz, Day 1 - Draco Shows Pace With Muller, Negrao

The rain hit hard in the first segment but the weather did not prevent the drivers from completing their work schedule. Muller ended up the first session in 2nd place, with a best lap of 1:41.472 and 40 flawless lap under his belt. The Swiss racer set his fastest lap in drying conditions late in the morning. Negrao Jr settled for 16th with a personal best lap of 1:49.848, logging only 22 laps due to a minor exhaust issue.

In the afternoon, the sun started to shine on the Motorland Aragón venue. Unfortunately, Muller and Negrao could not take the best out of their set of new tires due to a red flag situation, but their pace stayed fast and consistent. Muller ended up in fourth (1:40.162), just 0.249 seconds off the leader Stoffel Vandoorne, while Negrao ended up in 6th in 1:40.398.

Andrè Negrao
“Everything went quite good today. We stayed among the frontrunners almost all the time that's a very important fact. The team carried-on some solid set-up work that makes us pretty confident for tomorrow. We hope to improve further and to stay at the front end of the charts”.

Nico Muller
“I'm happy because we didn't experience any single issue. In one season we managed to solve all that little inconveniences that had been stopping us in the past and I also improved, increasing my confidence with the car. I've got the right deal of experience to find the car's limit and tomorrow we'll be definitely starting from a good base".
