Facu Regalia concluded yesterday the first collective test of GP3 at Estoril, the track where he made his debut at the wheel of the new ART Grand Prix GP3/13. Just like Thursday, the morning was quite rainy and the in the afternoon the drivers could test in dry conditions. Morning´s session times were extensively improved by the afternoon, with the driver managed by Adrián Campos finishing 9th fastest with a best lap of 1:28.322.
“Our main goal was to work as hard as possible and to get used to the new car, and for sure we were able to do it. I could have finished into top-3 because I was always among the fastest ones in the second session but, with my last set of new tires and improving over half a second, my lap was aborted due to a red-flag”, Regalia explained. Anyway he focused on “the positive, for sure we made important progresses and now it´s the moment to analyze everything.
My teammates and I completed a race simulation and it went really well, with a very good race pace. The car performance was excellent on long runs. For Barcelona both my team and I could draw a good number of conclusions. Now we made some steps forward and know how to keep developing the car in Barcelona. Next test will be a very important one because the season opener is there in May, so we´re going to give our best to get a good setting there”.
Regalia will be back at the wheel of the GP3/13 car next March 12-13 at Circuit de Catalunya.
