Black Team, Ombra Racing Team Get Back On-Track For Testing At Vallelunga

Two GTSPRINT teams went on-track for a two-day test this week at Vallelunga as Black Team and Ombra Racing Team lined-up in an effort to try new driver combinations and technical solutions for next season's GTSPRINT INTERNATIONAL SERIES.

Black Team, back from an almost perfect season that brought Andrea Palma to the overall and GTS2 honours, fielded three cars. The 2012 championship-winning Ferrari 458 Italia GTS2 was joined by a second 458 in GTS3 spec and by a third Ferrari (a F430 model) which welcomed some Russian drivers interested in lining-up in the SWR-promoted series in 2013.

"The test has gone very well - told Black Team's Team Manager Oscar Berselli - We are trying some new drivers and we are interested in the GTS3 category too for the 2013 season, since we are developing a second Ferrari 458. It's still a bit early to talk about performance. We have to keep working hard in order to pick-up from where we left off in 2012".

GTS3 reigning champion Mario Cordoni was back at the controls of the Ombra Racing Team Ferrari 458 GTS3. The Italian squad's team Manager, Davide Mazzoleni, confirmed their interest in expanding into a two-car operation, while they also wait for the last-spec upgrades for the Maranello-built racer.

“We're getting back in full-shape and we aim to be even more competitive - told Cordoni - Last Thursday I logged 25 laps to test some different set-up solutions before upgrading the car. I couldn't push hard due to the low temperature but I see these days like a key experience for staying on top in forthcoming months. The chemistry with the team is stronger than ever and we look forward to stay at the front in a championship that is raising lots of interest in GT Racing".
