2013 Daytona 500: LIVE NASCAR Sprint Cup Race Update - Caution One
By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers
The 2013 NASCAR Sprint Cup Daytona 500 continues with Jeff Gordon and his No. 24 Drive to End Hunger Chevrolet in the lead. Gordon had been complaining of a rising water temperature due to a wrapper on the front of his grill blocking an air inlet to the engine.
On lap 27, NASCAR threw the yellow flag for debris in turn three. Gordon was able to slide up behind the pace car and the debris flew off his car at 70 mph, rather than the 200 he had been running.
Following pitstops, Jeff Gordon leads the field followed by Kasey Kahne, Austin Dillon, Kyle Busch, and Jimmie Johnson.
Danica Patrick has dropped from second well back in the field to eighth.
Keep an eye on the top groove, it appears to be the quicker line around the 2.5-mile Daytona International Speedway.
Also keep an eye on the weather. Though, it appears the thunderstorms are going to continue to stay to the south of the Speedway until at least 4PM.
Enjoy!
