3: The number of top-five finishes posted by Ryan Newman in 12 Daytona 500 starts. Newman won the 50th running of the Great American Race in 2008, but since then, the Birthplace of Speed has been worse than unkind to the veteran Sprint Cup Series driver. Since winning five years ago, Newman finished 36th, 34th, 22nd and 21st in subsequent Daytona 500s before righting the ship on Sunday and finishing fifth.
