· Recapping Daytona
o Last Saturday at Daytona International Speedway, Pastrana earned a career-high 10th-place finish after starting fourth. He ran a conservative race, but quickly marched his way to the front of the field to close the race.
o “It was wild,” said Pastrana. “I feel like my goal here was a top-10 and to not crash. I got 10th, and I made it across the finish line. I can’t say enough about this Roush Fenway Racing team. They got me up to the front, which was awesome to start up there.”
· The Car
o The No. 60 crew brings a new chassis, RK-766 to PIR this weekend.
· Local Connections
o Mike Brown, Jackman for the No. 60 Ford Mustang, returns to his hometown of Phoenix for this weekend’s race.
QUOTE WORTHY
Pastrana On:
· Leaving Daytona and Looking Ahead:
“I’m really happy with the team and our result to start out the season in Daytona. It was my first race with the team, and I already feel very confident with my new spotter Joel (Edmonds) and new crew chief Chad (Norris). Daytona was fun, but the real racing starts this weekend. I'm excited to see what we have for these guys in the Nationwide Series.”
· Racing at Phoenix
“I've raced at Phoenix before, but it was on the old configuration. My favorite part was the worn out pavement and how much the car slid around. Coming into this year, it's a new car, a new track and new pavement. It's going to be a learning experience, but I'll have a lot of those throughout the year. I need to complete all the laps, finish as well as possible and make some good notes, so when we come back later in the Championship, I can be a contender.”
