Montecalvo Seeks Top Finish At Circuit Of The Americas This Weekend
Nearly one month since his top-five finish at the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season opener at Daytona International Speedway, Frankie Montecalvo seeks to duplicate and improve that finish this weekend at The Circuit of The Americas, the new purpose-built motorsports facility located in Austin, Texas.

Montecalvo and Nick Mancuso will co-drive the No. 16 Multimatic Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage around the 3.40-mile, 20-turn road course during the two-day GRAND-AM of The Americas Presented by GAINSCO and TOTAL race on Saturday, March 2.
In addition to this being the second race of the season, this is also the second race for Montecalvo and Mancuso to race in the Multimatic Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage race car. In the season opener at Daytona, Montecalvo and Mancuso earned a top-10 qualifying position and finished the race in fourth place.
On track action at the Circuit of The Americas begins on Friday, March 1, with practice and qualifying. Green flag for the GRAND-AM of the Americas Presented by Gainsco and Total (2.5 hour race) is on Saturday, March 2 at 11:05 a.m. (ET). Race coverage can be seen on Saturday, March 9 at 4:00 p.m. (ET) on SPEED.
Frankie Montecalvo
“We had a large break between our last race in Daytona and this weekend, so I’m more than ready to get back into the Aston Martin this weekend at Circuit of the Americas. During the break in the action I had the time to prepare physically with my fitness/circuit training and stayed mentally prepared for the rest of the season.
“I’m very excited to race in Austin next since it is a new track. It looks like an amazing facility. New tracks are challenging because you want to find the fastest line, and it takes me back to my first season of racing when everything was new.
“This is going to be a challenging weekend because this is a new race for everybody in GRAND-AM and it levels the playing field a bit. My goal for the weekend is to have productive practice sessions and a solid qualifying run. The race length is the same as Daytona, so anything can happen. We will race our race and do our best to run with leaders. Hopefully, we’ll see ourselves in the top five and continue what we started in Daytona.”
