Extreme Speed Motorsport’s Ferrari F458 Italia is the first withdrawal of the 56 entries for the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours. Thus, it will not be on the grid for the 81st event. This entrant won its invitation for the Le Mans 24 Hours in the American Le Mans Series in one of the two LM GTE categories: it was up to the team to choose which.

In compliance with the ACO regulations the place left vacant by the Ferrari goes to the first reserve on the list of entrants invited in LM GTE. Thus, the Aston Martin Racing Aston Martin V8 Vantage joins the cars invited to race in the 2013 Le Mans 24 Hours.

In accordance with the sporting regulations the Automobile Sports Committee has given its agreement to Aston Martin Racing to modify the category of car no. 98, which moves from the LM GTE AM to the LM GTE Pro category, in which there are now twelve cars instead of eleven.
