2013 Formula One F1 Driver Line-up, Rumor Round-up & 2014 Silly Season Rumors - March 1st

The 2013 Formula One F1 season continued testing this week at the Catalunya circuit in Barcelona, Spain. Red Bull (Mark Webber) leading Thursday testing, and Lotus (Romain Grosjean) leading yesterday's results. Interestingly, at the same track a week ago it was Mercedes topping two days, Ferrari one, and McLaren one. In all, five different teams topped six different days.
While testing can be volatile, it sure would make for an interesting season with five teams fighting for the top honors.
Thus, the lack of a clear pecking order continues. Though Ferrari with Fernando Alonso in the cockpit were dead last during yesterday's "race simulation" cut short by a red flag, does anyone believe that's the true pace of the F138 ?
On the technical front, Williams changed their challenger's exhaust last week, this week Caterham followed suit with an exhaust change of their own.
There are just 12 days ahead of the Australian Grand Prix.
The grid filled out last week with Adrian Sutil grabbing the final Force India seat. But then an amazing thing happened on the way to the bank to cash the check at Marussia: And suddenly, Luiz Razia was on the outside looking in.
Even more interesting, Marussia was rumored to be needing engines for 2014 since Cosworth - their current supplier - won't be building to the new specification, and Toro Rosso (a Ferrari customer) is rumored to be switching to Renault for 2014.
Thus, the second seat at Marussia was suddenly filled by Jules Bianchi who was initially rumored to be filling the second seat at Force India, and bringing an Ferrari engine package with him to that team.
It would seem that Marussia have filled two needs with one puzzle piece.
The 2013 grid is now filled out, and the rumors will begin for 2014 in earnest.
So let's get the 2014 silly season list updated so we can track the ruminations through the year.
