2013 Barcelona: Formula One F1 Saturday Test Results - Hamilton, Mercedes Fastest!

The Formula One F1 series continued their testing at the Circuit de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain today. In what could be a glimpse of the 2013 Formula One F1 season opener at the Australian Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton and his Mercedes challenger put up a fast lap of 1:20.558 which was a solid six tenths ahead of Felipe Massa and his Ferrari F138 at 1:21.266.
Mercedes haven't consistently been fastest in testing, but comments coming from this week's test say the field is seeing Mercedes as the top car heading to Melbourne.
Third fastest, and fresh in his new seat at Force India was Adrian Sutil with a lap of 1:21.627. Overall, he turned 109 on the day.
Williams split the day with two drivers turning the fourth and fifth laps respectively: Pastor Maldonado (1:22.305), and Valtteri Bottas (Williams).
Sixth quick was Esteban Gutierrez (Sauber) followed by Mark Webber (Red Bull), Sergio Perez (McLaren), Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso), Romain Grosjean (Lotus), Davide Valsecchi (Lotus), Jules Bianchi (Marussia), and Giedo van der Garde (Caterham).
Overall, 13 Formula One F1 car/driver combinations turned laps today.
