2013 Las Vegas: Austin Dillon NASCAR Nationwide Race Preview

This Week's AdvoCare Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway ... Austin Dillon will pilot Chassis No. 102 in the Las Vegas 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. This is the same Chevrolet Dillon drove to victory lane at both NASCAR Nationwide Series events at Kentucky Speedway in 2012, starting from the pole position in both events. He also raced this Chevrolet to a fifth-place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway in November, a sixth-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway in July, a sixth-place finish at Dover International Speedway in June, a fifth-place finish at Darlington Raceway in May, a fifth-place finish at Texas Motor Speedway in April and a seventh-place finish at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March.

Winner, Winner ... In Dillon's lone Nationwide Series appearance at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, he posted a seventh-place finish after starting third in the March 2012 edition of the race. He has two starts at the 1.5-mile oval in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with one pole award and one race win to his credit (September 2010). In his 2011 Camping World Truck Series appearance at the track, Dillon started second and battled back from a lap-three accident to finish 17th.

Vegas Roots ... Crew chief Danny Stockman's first job within the sport was as a mechanic with Las Vegas-based Orleans Racing at the age of 19. Now 30 years old, the crew chief has celebrated a Camping World Truck Series championship with Dillon at RCR along with two Camping World Truck Series championships as a truck chief for Ron Hornaday Jr. at Kevin Harvick Inc. The Dillon-Stockman duo earned the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series Rookie of the Year honors, along with two wins and a series-leading 27 top-10 finishes last year. In addition to Stockman's Vegas roots, car chief Robert Stramiska previously worked for Orleans Racing and is a native of the West Coast, hailing from Manteca, Calif.

Spark your Engines ... Dillon and the RCR team will sport the colors of award-winning premier health and wellness company AdvoCare on the No. 3 Chevrolet at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. AdvoCare offers nutrition, weight loss, energy and sports performance products of the highest quality developed through comprehensive research and backed by a Scientific and Medical Advisory Board. Dillon trains with AdvoCare products throughout the week and is a distributor as well. For more information about Dillon's favorite products, including Spark, Rehydrate, meal replacement bars and Post-Workout Recovery, visit http://www.AdvoCare.com.

AdvoCare Supporting the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma ... If Dillon wins this weekend's Nationwide Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, AdvoCare will make a $5,000 donation to the Childress Institute for Pediatric Trauma. The health and wellness company will pledge $2,000 to CIPT for a top-five finish and $1,000 for a top-10 finish. The Childress Institute invests resources in research, education and awareness to improve the treatment for critically injured children in the U.S. and AdvoCare's generous donations are aimed at helping to raise awareness for pediatric trauma, the No. 1 killer of children in America. You can help save the lives of injured children by making a contribution to the Childress Institute in two ways: donate $33 in honor of Dillon via his website, or text WIN to 80077 to make a $10 donation.

Double Duty ... In addition to driving the No. 3 AdvoCare Chevrolet this weekend, Dillon is racing the No. 51 TAG Heuer Eyewear Chevrolet SS for Phoenix Racing in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The Kobalt Tools 400 is live on FOX on Sunday, March 10 at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.

What do you think about the new NASCAR Nationwide Series Camaro so far?
"So far, I love the Camaro. It looks a lot more like the car I have in my garage and that is the coolest part. The Camaro has a little bit of a different feel out on the race track, but not much. I think the overall balance is a little better. The car we have this year is faster."

What do you think about Las Vegas Motor Speedway?
"I've had a lot of success at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. I won there in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series my rookie year, so it's a track that means a lot to me. I've also had some disappointment at Vegas. We wrecked on the first lap in the Truck Series before. I remember we battled a tight-handling condition during the NASCAR Nationwide Series race here last year and finished in the top-10. I think that was one of my first mile-and-a-half races in the Nationwide Series. We've learned a lot since then as a team and we are coming to this race with the same car we won both Kentucky races with last year so my goal is a win this weekend."
