Radical Australia, based at Sydney Motorsport Park in New South Wales, has today announced a new management structure for their racing operations that will raise the level of professionalism across the board.

Mike Barry has joined the organisation as Category Manager & will play an active role in each round & oversee the technical ruling. Brendan Radford has also joined the category as series director for the RAC this season.

Radford joins the series full-time to oversee the administration, and comes from a motorcycling and sports sponsorship background, adding an array of key industry skills to the management structure of the series.

The experienced Alan Pitt, who played a role in the latter part of the 2012 season, will join the Radical Australia Cup from the outset as the series eligibility officer, bringing vast experience from his role as the V8 Ute Racing series Technical Director.

Meanwhile, experienced racer Barton Mawer will return as the series Driving Standards officer, working with race control at each round to ensure that the on-track professionalism matches the level off-track operations.

Radical Australia has also confirmed several key sponsors and a charitable partner for the 2013 Radical Australia Cup.
Care Flight will serve as the official Charity of the 2013 Radical Australia Cup.

Dedicated to providing the highest standard of rapid response critical care to the ill and injured, Care Flight’s specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics use helicopters, fixed wing aircraft and road ambulances to bring a hospital level of care to patients.

“CareFlight was delighted to be chosen by Radical Australia to be their charity partner,” said charity representative, Scott Monaghan.

“Having attended thousands of motor vehicle incidents over our 27yr history we understand the dangerous side to this exhilarating sport. We look forward to working with the guys at Radical Australia to make this a mutually beneficial ongoing partnership.”

First Neon joins the series as a secondary partner, having been involved in the series for several seasons via long-time competitor, Peter White – who is also entering his new Radical SR8 RX in the 2013 series.

The brand will appear on all vehicles contesting the RAC this season, as well as title sponsorship of the First Neon 250 Event which will also feature an extended TV package.

"As the first choice of some of Australia’s most prestigious brands, First Neon enjoys a glowing reputation for excellence in signage,” White said.

“I'm excited about the season ahead, competing in our new SR8 amongst an ever growing field of Radicals. Radical Australia & the RAC provides the time poor businessman & amateur racer the ability to go racing in a very professionally operated category.

“Our fellow racers are competitive yet respectful of each other & this makes for an enjoyable & fair race series."
Dunlop (Tyres), Shell (Oils) and Industrie (clothing) will all return as official suppliers of the RAC in 2013.

29 entries have now been received for the opening round of 2013 at Top Gear Festival Sydney, to be held at Sydney Motorsport Park between March 8-10.
