Shane brought his championship winning car along with him to show to the guests who were staying at the facility and both racers signed autographs for everyone as well.
"It definitely makes you stop and think how good your life is when you see a little kid that has had a liver transplant or has cancer or something like that and they can still smile," Shane said. "I think Jake and me both realize we're pretty lucky to be healthy and to be able to race and have all the things we have. The staff that works there gave us a tour and I was amazed at how nice the facility is and all that it provides for the families who stay there."
Shane will be making his debut in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Late Model division at Hickory Motor Speedway this Saturday, March 9th. He will also be competing in the Limited Late Model portion of the evening's events.
"I'm ready to go racing," Shane smiled. "We've tested some and we have a pretty good idea what it's going to take for me to win some Late Model races. I'm ready to get to the track and get going!"
