Zeta Corse lined‐up at the French venue with returning Mihai Marinescu, who drove at Motorland A ragón, and Nick Yelloly. "I wanted a deeply experienced driver with this car in order to gather some good technical feedback and Nick seemed the right choice". Unfortunately, Yelloly was stopped during the whole A M segment by an engine issue although the session was disrupted by bad weather. In the PM session, thanks to the great job done by the team's staff and to a massive improvement in terms of weather conditions, Yelloly was able to complete the scheduled work and ended up the day in 8th place overall. His best personal laptime of 1'47"584 was not too far off the 1'46"745‐mark set by leader Stoffel Vandoorne.

On the team's second car, Marinescu continued in his fine tuning work despite an alternator issue in the afternoon. The Romanian ended up in 25th with a best laptime of 1'50"220.

"It's been an important day for us ‐ told Corradini ‐ despite the issues suf‐ fered on both cars we were able to gather some very useful data in terms of development. In addition to that, being able to enter the top‐10 has been a great achievement for the guys. They are working exceptionally well".

Marinescu will stay behind the wheel for Day 2 while the second car should be shared Yelloly and Daniel Zampieri. The schedule is yet to be determined due to the sudden withdrawal of Vittorio Ghirelli
