NASCAR Nns Rookie Driver Kyle Larson Announces Lefty's Reading Challenge Winners

More than 110,000 elementary school students from San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles Counties are on track to read over 700,000 books during Lefty’s Reading Challenge for a chance to win thousands of dollars for their school libraries. The challenge, named after Auto Club Speedway mascot Lefty, is part of Auto Club Speedway’s Youth initiative.

Participating schools will be divided in two categories: Category 1 Schools with enrollment up to 600 students are eligible to win a cash prize of $2,000, while Category 2 Schools with enrollment of 601+ students are eligible to win a cash prize of $3,000. A Category 1 School and a Category 2 School from each county with the highest percentage of students that turn in their registration forms and have completed their reading log will win the cash prizes of $2,000 and $3,000 respectively.

With the support of Bento Box Interactive, all schools participating in Lefty’s Reading Challenge will also receive the recently released, digitally enhanced Sweet Pickles E-books series (www.sweetpickles.com). Celebrating its 35th Anniversary, the Sweet Pickles E-books creates an interactive read-along experience with professional sound effects, narration and character voices performed by award-winning voice actors.

Lefty’s Reading Challenge started this week and continues through February 8. All students who successfully complete the challenge will receive a Certificate of Completion and free admission for themselves and their parent or guardian to NASCAR Qualifying Day on Friday, March 22 and the NASCAR Royal Purple 300 on Saturday, March 23. In addition, each student receives a free membership card to Lefty’s Kids Club which provides great benefits such as free admission to NASCAR and INDYCAR races at Auto Club Speedway and much more!
