I.S.R. Racing Leaves Paul Ricardencouraged
The two-day official test World Series by Renault FR3.5 at Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet brought strong encouragement before the start of the new season. Czech team was strengthened for both days by Sam Bird, the third man FR3.5 final standings and last year's I.S.R. Racing driver. His task was to check some set-up configuration as well as help to Sergey Sirotkin to explore FR3.5 single-seaters. The fastest lap times weren’t primary aim, but the results are satisfying.

Igor SALAQUARDA - team principal
“I am very satisfied with the test results and how the team works. Compared to the last year we made a step forward. I would like to thank Sam that helped us with the verification of different set-ups. Although he had a stomach problemson day 1 afternoon and even the next day was not feeling quite right, his involvement was great benefit. Sergey also deserves bigpraise, he did a fast and consistent lap times again. Saturday afternoon he had a small exhaust issue and did not appear on the track at closing stages of the session when the fastest times were clocked. He convinced us again that we made the right choice. I think we arewell prepared for start of the season. We are still negotiating with three driversabout this year's contract for a second car, and I believe we will have a strong and balanced pair of drivers.”

Day 1 - afternoon 24th place 1:49.778 +3.033
Day 2 - morning 4th place 2:04.941 +2.413
Day 2 - afternoon 5th place 1:47.278 +0.853
“I only did a handful of laps on track at selected times in order to help validate some set-up choices that the team were exploring. The rest of the time was spent on data analysis with the engineers and I also worked closely with Sergey (Sirotkin), who is a talented boy with a lot of potential. When I was on track we were consistently at the top of the times, despite not always focussing on outright single-lap pace, so I have to say that I.S.R.'s progress is very, very encouraging.”
“I am also extremely impressed with the team's strengthened technical team, which is working very effectively indeed. I think we can expect very good things from I.S.R. this season.”
“It was a pleasure to team up with I.S.R again and I'd like to say thanks to Igor Salaquarda for entrusting me with this testing task.”
Sergey SIROTKIN

“It was very useful test with very different weather, from rain to dry. Because of that I got much more confidence with war car than last year(also in rain). The fact that Sam was my teammate was also very helpful for me and I could learn a bit from him! Thanks a lot to whole team which helped me a lot during these two days! It was great preparation for the season!”
