Devin Walker Second After Torrid BRP Battle!
Popular Florida dirt-track racer Devin Walker put on one of the finest performances of his dirt-track career as he raced side-by-side with eventual winner Donnie Ashford for most of the stock car race at Bubba Raceway Park before having to settle for second place.

Devin started fifth but didn't stay there long. He powered forward at the drop of the green and almost had the lead at one point but was sitting third when a yellow flag on lap three slowed the four-way battle for the top spot.
Once back underway, Devin quickly moved into second and began pressuring Ashford as the pair raced door to door, making contact at times in a good old-fashioned shootout at the BRP Corral. Ashford would hang on for the win but Devin still wore a huge smile after it was over.
"The car was really good all day long!" he grinned following the thriller. "I started last in the heat, finished second and then raced side by side with Donnie for about 15 laps through traffic and just missed winning the feature. The motor had just a little bit of a hesitation when I got to the throttle so I had to adjust my line a little to avoid spinning the tires when it would kick back in. I can't thank my crew and my sponsors enough because it's nights like this, whether I win or not that are why I love racing so much. Thank God for a safe race and thanks to the fans for coming out to see us!"
The 16-year-old will be back at Bubba Raceway Park this weekend to see if he can get back to victory lane where he parked following last month's Winternationals event.
