Status GP Ready To Go For Second Test Run With All-New GP3 Car At Barcelona
As in the first test at Estoril, Swede Jimmy Eriksson and Briton Josh Webster will drive throughout the running, while Chinese driver Adderly Fong, who completed one and a half of the three days in Portugal, will join them for the duration.

The test will be especially significant as for the first time the new second-generation, 400bhp naturally-aspirated GP3 machines are testing on a track at which they will be raced. Barcelona hosts the first round of 2013 on 10th to 12th May, supporting the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix.
All three of Status GP’s Barcelona test drivers – German Formula 3 champion Eriksson, British Formula 3 National Class race winner Fong and Formula Renault BARC runner-up Webster – will be looking to build on the progress made in the Estoril test last month.
Driver quotes:
Jimmy Eriksson:
"It should be really interesting. We had to work through a few things in the first test at Estoril, but I think the team have done a good job to prepare the car, so hopefully we should make some progress. I've been to Barcelona a couple of times in Formula 3 and I know the circuit quite well, so I can go out and push from the beginning and learn the car a bit more. Hopefully that means I'll be strong from the first lap."
Adderly Fong:
“I’m looking forward to it. Hopefully Tuesday will be dry because Wednesday is forecast to be wet, so we’ll be hoping to get a good feeling. I think we’ll be doing a few race runs, so it will be interesting to see how the Pirelli P Zero tyres react on a grippy circuit with longer corners. I’ve already driven here in a World Series by Renault car, so I’ll be aiming to get in the top 10, especially as we know more about the new car’s aerodynamics now.”
Josh Webster:
“I can’t wait! Now that the initial excitement of driving the GP3 car has passed, I’m just looking forward to getting back out on the track. I’m learning all the time, and the team are learning about me. It’s vital to get as much track time as we can so we can sort out any issues, especially as this is my first time at Barcelona. The first morning will be all about learning the circuit. We’ll see how it goes from there.”
