Grand Prix Event Crucial In IRWIN Racing Supercar Development
No championship points will be on offer, but this weekend's V8 Supercars support event at the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park offers plenty for IRWIN Racing as it strives to further develop the Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 V8 Supercar from Erebus Motorsport.

After debuting the E63 platform with a pair of 17th place finishes at the Clipsal 500 on the streets of Adelaide at the start of the month. The shorter four-race format at Albert Park provides an excellent opportunity to conduct some 'real race testing' over the weekend.
Track time is crucial to IRWIN Racing better understanding the E63, plus also develop the AMG V8 engine which has been designed and built in Germany.
Even without championship points on offer, the opportunity to run as part of the Grand Prix support event is seen as one of the major highlights of the season.
As well as practice and qualifying, each race will be 12 laps in length and will include pit stops for four tyres.
