Sheldon Creed Steps Up To Pro-Lite For 2013 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series

At just fifteen years of age Sheldon Creed is looking forward to the most promising year of his off-road racing career. For the last five years Sheldon Creed and OCCR (Ortega, Creed, Chiramonte Racing) have battled their way through the ranks of off-road racing and proven themselves time and time again as to why Sheldon Creed is the future of the sport.

Deemed as “the Prodigy of Shortcourse”, Sheldon Creed will enter a whole new level of commitment and sacrifice for the 2013 shortcourse season. Coming straight out of his SuperLite Championship in 2012, Creed is looking to take on the Pro Lite field full time in 2013. This will mark Creed’s first full year behind the wheel of his newly reworked Pro Lite as a professional driver. Crew chief Jimmy Weitzel knew he had to do whatever he could in order to give Sheldon the competitive edge he needed. In doing so, Weitzel totally reworked Creed’s 2012 Pro Lite and reincarnated it for 2013 to be faster, lighter, stronger and a racecar suitable for “the Prodigy of Shortcourse”.

With the direction of former Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series race director Tony Vanillo and his newly formed Off-Road Management Group, Creed is sure to get the guidance he needs in order to ensure a successful 2013 season. Vanillo, a future Off-Road Hall of Famer in his own right knows what it takes to become successful in the brutal world of off-road racing and has put together a comprehensive program that will push Sheldon to sharpen his driving skills and his public image.

Creed is already convincing people that he is going to take on 2013 like no other driver out there. Sheldon has already kicked off the New Year with unmatched results in both the ASCC and Southern California Lucas Oil Regional series. At the ASCC event at Firebird International Raceway, Sheldon Creed qualified second over-all, with a Pro 2 driven Super Lite veteran Drew Britt qualifying less than a second faster than Creed. After starting on the poll in the main event, Sheldon quickly got mixed up with the rest of the field behind him, though Creed lost a few positions he took it as a challenge. Creed started working his way back through the pack and ended up finishing first in the Pro Lite category. The following weekend fresh off of his win in Arizona, Sheldon Creed and the OCCR crew headed to Southern California where he would lay down the fastest Pro Open qualifying time for the entire weekend and set precedence for all to follow.

Sheldon Creed commented “I have a lot of confidence in my truck and my crew going into this season. It feels great to be back behind the wheel of my re-done Pro Lite. The truck ran flawlessly at both regional events, with no mechanical issues. I am looking forward to testing my skills against the Pro’s at the LOORRS season opener!”

The “Prodigy of Shortcourse” is a big name to live up to, it is without a doubt that Sheldon Creed will live up to all expectations and show up at Firebird International Raceway with his game-face on and determined to show the veterans of the class that he isn’t just hype.

Sheldon and team would like to thank their sponsors who make racing possible: BFGoodrich, AM Ortega Construction, Trench Shoring Co, Fox Racing Shox and Eibach Springs, GoRhino! Products, Method Race Wheels and Lucas Oil.
