Michael Brown Back In Blackwell 27 At Cherokee Saturday

Michael Brown will once again race Travis Blackwell's team car for the Southeast Crate Association (SECA) $1,000 to win race at the Cherokee Speedway this Saturday in Gaffney, S.C.

This will be Michael's second start in the Barry Wright built car, now numbered 27. He drove the car to a sixth place finish in the season opening Crate Late Model event at the track a couple of weeks ago when it carried an "X" on the side.

"I am excited to be teaming with Travis once again to race his car at Cherokee," Michael said. "I really like the way it drives and I enjoy working with Travis and his son Chastin. We'll be after that $1000 top prize. It should be a great show for the fans and the weather is supposed to be pretty nice too."

For fans wondering why he hasn't brought out his own Rocket Chassis No. 06 yet this season, Michael says the car is still being put together. "We decided to completely rebuild it over the winter and we got a late start on it," he said. "My father and I have been doing most of the work and it has taken a lot of time. We want to do it right and don't really have a timetable. Right now I'm just looking forward to doing a good job for Travis this weekend at Cherokee!"
