Statement From Watkins Glen International President Michael Printup On Unified Sports Car Series
“The return of IMSA as the unified sports car racing organization pays homage to the legendary history of sports car racing and is an outstanding step into the future of this tremendous sport. Following the evolution of sports car racing personally as a fan and professionally as the president of Watkins Glen International, I can see that this is an important move forward for all of racing. I am eager to see the new sanctioning body in action in 2014.

“Congratulations to our friends at GRAND-AM Road Racing and the American Le Mans Series as they combine forces. IMSA-sanctioned races have long been a part of Watkins Glen International and will continue to be an integral aspect of The Glen in the future.
“We cannot wait for fans to see a glimpse of The Future during Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen weekend June 28-30. Watkins Glen International is thrilled to host GRAND-AM Road Racing’s Rolex Sports Car and Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series, as well as IMSA’s Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge, to begin our summer of racing.”
