2013 Australia GP: LIVE Formula One F1 Qualifying Update - Q2 Delayed, Cancel Rumors ?
By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers
Qualifying for the Formula F1 series at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix on the streets of Melbourne, Austrlia is under cancellation threat as weather continues to keep the low-riding F1 cars sidelined after rain.
Q1 was delayed by 30 minutes, but the 20 minute session was run. The Q2 session has now been delayed twice for a total of 30 minutes. The concern is approaching rain, and having to red flag the session. Right now the track appears OK, why they aren't just going for it is beyond our comprehension. Let the best driver get it right.
Even so, darkness is approaching, and further delays won't help that situation.
Q1 KO's: Jules Bianchi, Max Chilton, Giedo van der Garde, Charles Pic, Esteban Gutierrez, Pastor Maldonado.
Pirelli have brought their medium and supersoft tyres should drier conditions break through. Teams started on the full wet tyres, and some began gambling on the intermediates late in the Q1 session.
