Peninsula Pipeline Teams With USF2000 At St Petersburg

The Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship Powered by Mazda is excited to announce a new partnership with Peninsula Pipeline which will see the Dover, Del.-based wholly owned subsidiary of the Chesapeake Utilities Corporation headline Round 4 of the championship. The Peninsula Pipeline Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will be held this Sunday, March 24, on the streets of St. Petersburg, Fla., in support of INDYCAR.

"We are very pleased to have Peninsula Pipeline on board to support a fantastic event on our schedule,” said Dan Andersen, Owner and CEO of Andersen Promotions, the series promoter. “It is exciting for us to have a new company come in and explore the marketing platform that our series provides, and we will do our best to ensure that their staff and guests have a first-class experience. Our drivers put on two exciting shows at our season-opener this past week and we are looking forward to more great racing in St. Petersburg.”

Peninsula Pipeline was established in 2005 and serves large industrial customers, electric generators and local distribution companies throughout Florida. The company plays a significant role in improving Florida's fuel diversity and competitiveness by increasing the availability of natural gas in areas not currently served. Its parent company Chesapeake Utilities has a solid footprint in the state acquiring, in 2009, Florida Public Utilities Company, which has been providing energy to homes and businesses throughout the state since 1924.

Peninsula Pipeline and their guests will enjoy a VIP suite for entertaining, and participate in a variety of activities over the race weekend including exclusive paddock tours and driver meet-and-greets as well as involvement in race activities with honorary starters and podium presenters. In addition, all 31 cars on the USF2000 grid will carry Peninsula Pipeline branding throughout the event.

“We are very happy to be connected with such an exciting and prestigious event as the Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg,” said Kevin Webber, Vice President of Peninsula Pipeline. “It provides a great platform to network, grow business opportunities and enjoy professional open-wheel racing.”

Race 1 of the doubleheader USF2000 weekend will take place on Saturday, March 23, at 12:15 pm ET. The green flag for the Peninsula Pipeline Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will fly at 9:30 am on Sunday, just prior to pre-race activities for the season-opening IZOD IndyCar Series race.
