Danny “The Count” Koker, from HISTORY Channel’s popular show “Counting Cars,” and Vic Edelbrock Jr., chairman of the board for Edelbrock, LLC, will join Bruton Smith, chairman and CEO of Speedway Motorsports Inc., and Marcus Smith, president and general manager of Charlotte Motor Speedway, to judge the finalists.

Prior to the contest, Koker will sign autographs along with Kevin Mack, also from “Counting Cars.” The autograph session will take place from 1 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. in the Showcase Pavilion. Edelbrock Jr. will also sign autographs on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the Manufacturer’s Midway.

At 3 p.m. near the Showcase Pavilion, the final contestants will take the stage and be evaluated on their vocal talent, appearance, stage presence and overall performance. The contestant named Charlotte Motor Speedway’s Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist will go on to compete against other semifinalists from around the globe in the overall Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest held during Elvis Week, at Graceland in Memphis, Tenn.

In addition, the winner will receive $2,500 in prize money, a one-of-a-kind trophy, a chance to perform on the final day of the Food Lion AutoFair and dinner for two in The Speedway Club, where they will also give a performance for special guests. Second place will receive $1,000 and third place will take home $500.

The deadline to register for the contest is Monday, March 25. Contestants can find more information and register online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com/elvis. Fans can watch the contest by purchasing a ticket to the Food Lion AutoFair.

Semifinal rounds for the contest will be held on Friday, April 5 from 12 to 2 p.m., 3 to 5 p.m., and Saturday, April 6 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

The Food Lion AutoFair annually attracts more than 100,000 visitors, features nearly 50 car club displays and offers a surplus of automotive parts and memorabilia for sale or trade. There’s also a collector car auction conducted by Dealer Auctions Inc., and more than 1,500 collectible vehicles of all makes and models will be available for sale in the car corral that rings the 1.5-mile superspeedway.

Food Lion AutoFair tickets are $10 for adults and free for children 13 and under. Four-day passes are available for $30. AutoFair is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
