Productive Pre-Season Preparation For DAMS

The DAMS Formula Renault 3.5 Series team was back in action for the third collective winter test session on the Montmelo circuit beside Barcelona. The French team took full advantage of the two days, Tuesday and Wednesday, and its cars were always among the front-runners. Kevin Magnussen set the second-quickest time, while Norman Nato continued his apprenticeship with a place in the top 10 on the first day.

On Tuesday, thanks to the good weather the team was able to run through its full programme working on setups, tyre management, pit stops and starts. The rain appeared the next morning so DAMS continued working on pits tops and starts until the sun came out again and dried the track. Overall, a couple of very productive and successful days' work.

François Sicard: "We're satisfied with these two days during which we were able to run through all types of race conditions, test different setups and the tyres while setting very encouraging times. This helped to train the drivers as well as the engineers and mechanics. Everybody is now champing at the bit to start the season!"

Kevin Magnussen: "I'm pretty happy with these two days, which have confirmed our potential. We were able to prepare for all kinds of eventualities over the two days. The car suits me down to the ground and we've shown that we've got the speed. I feel ready and I can't wait for the first qualifying session!"

Norman Nato: "A couple of good days' intensive work! We ran though a lot of options although I still don't feel completely at home so I'm not as quick as I'd like to be. This being said I'm sure we'll find the solution to move up another step. We did a lot of pit stop practice and starts and that was very useful. So I've just got to sort out a few details and I'm really looking forward to Monza."
