Antonelli And Baldassarri Make The Most Of Final Day At Jerez

The 2013 preseason concluded in positive fashion for Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini Moto3 at Jerez today, where a final couple of hours of track time were enough for Niccolò Antonelli to set the fifth fastest time and finish up as the fastest Italian and fastest Honda rider in Moto3. It was a particularly impressive performance from the youngster given the lack of preseason testing he has been able to complete due to a shoulder operation. Antonelli's Team GO&FUN Honda Gresini team-mate Lorenzo Baldassarri is also looking forward to the opening round of the season in Qatar on April 7th after consistently improving his lap times here over the past four days.

Niccolò Antonelli “I am really happy because we have finished this test on the up and even though I am still not physically perfect I feel ready to race in Qatar. In the little time we had available today we worked on the distribution of the extra weight that we will again unfortunately have to deal with this year and I think the guys found some interesting solutions. I'm going home feeling happy and confident that we can do well from the first race at Losail in Qatar.”

Lorenzo Baldassarri “I had a bit of a fever today and I wasn't in perfect shape but I was able to complete some good laps and take another step forward. If I was feeling better I could have gone even faster but I am still happy because we know what we are capable of. This has been a positive test for us and I am ready now to make my debut in the World Championship. I can't wait to get out on track for my first race, especially at night under the floodlights.”
