Auto GP Starts New Era At Monza
The Autodromo Nazionale in Monza is ready to host the first round of the 2013 Auto GP. A lot of fans and insiders are looking forward to see on-track the new car that Enzo Coloni developed to provide high levels of competition while keeping the costs under control. Eight teams and 15 drivers will take part in Round 1, led by reigning champions SuperNova, as they prepare to line-up the Italian duo of Vittorio Ghirelli and returning Auto GP driver Antonio Spavone.

Team Virtuosi UK will field rookie Andrea Roda and Max Snegirev, the Russian returning after his maiden Auto GP run in 2012. On the other hand, the Zele Racing line-up won't be less exciting by any means as the Austrian squad will be fielding reigning Formula 2 champion Luciano Bacheta and former Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan. A brand-new name for the series is also set to debut in the teams' compartment as Team Ghinzani will be represented by the youngest racer of the field, 17-year-old Romanian Robert Visoiu.
Japan will provide two entries to the Auto GP grid. Kimiya Sato and Yoshitaka Kuroda will hold the Euronova Racing banner, while another new operation, Ibiza Racing Team, will field the experienced Giuseppe Cipriani and Sergio Campana. MLR71 will count on the experienced Giacomo Ricci and the returning Michele La Rosa, while the Dutch-based MP Motorsport squad will welcome F.3 Italia Champion Riccardo Agostini and rookie Meindert van Buuren.
The most represented country is Italy with eight drivers, as opposed to the current lack of Italian talent in F.1. Two drivers will be coming from Japan and one each will be from Russia, the UK, India, Romania and the Netherlands.
