2013 Malaysia GP: Formula One F1 Practice Two Results
By PaddockTalk.com Staff Writers
The rain didn't stay away as the Formula One F1 series has completed practice session two for the 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix GP at the Sepang Circuit in Sepang, Malaysia. Fastest was Australian Grand Prix GP winner Kimi Raikkonen and his No. 7 Lotus-Renault with a lap of 1:36.569. Raikkonen turned 28 overall.
Raikkonen is quickly showing that himself and Lotus could be a real threat to unseat Vettel this season. The question is whether he will have the same race pace as at Melbourne.
Second quick was three-time Formula One F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel and his No. 1 Red Bull Racing-Renault with a lap of 1:36.588 - .019 seconds behind Raikkonen.
Third fastest was Felipe Massa and his No. 4 Ferrari with a lap of 1:36.661 just 0.092 back and three tenths up on Alonso. Super Massa has returned, and at the very least should be able to give Ferrari the second seat strength needed to take a constructors title.
Fourth fastest, Fernando Alonso and his No. 3 Ferrari with Mark Webber and his No. 2 Red Bull Racing-Renault in tow.
Romain Grosjean (Lotus-Renault) was sixth quick followed by Nico Rosberg (Mercedes), Paul Di Resta (Force India-Mercedes), Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), and Adrian Sutil (Force India-Mercedes).
McLaren and their junk chassis weren't even quick in the rain, Button and Perez were 11th and 12th respectively.
Next up for the Formula One F1 series will be practice session three on Saturday ahead of qualifying for the 2013 Malaysian Grand Prix GP.
