2013 St. Pete: IndyCar Qualifying Results - Power, Chevrolet On Pole!

IndyCar driver Will Power and his No. 12 Penske Chevrolet has taken the Pole for 2013 season opener on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida with a lap of 1:01.2070 / 105.870 mph. For Power, it is his 24th IndyCar Pole, and 30th in major open-wheel competition. It is also Power's fourth straight Pole on the streets of St. Petersburg - starting back in 2010.
Also starting on the front row will be Takuma Sato and his No. 14 Honda with a lap of 1:01.5776 / 105.233 mph which was three tenths off Power's pole lap.
Qualifying third was Simona de Silvestro and her No. 78 with a lap of 1:01.7670 / 104.910 mph. De Silvestro is racing for KV Racing with Chevrolet power this season. The promotion is a big step up for her, and she is the real deal.
Fourth quick was James Hinchcliffe ahead of Helio Castroneves who rounded out the top five.
Overall, 25 entries attempted to qualify for Sunday's main event.
