Doni Tata Pradita (24th ) “By the end of the race I couldn't take the pain in my forearm any more but I was determined to make it to the flag. I am happy with the way the race went and with the whole weekend because we have made constant progress and now I want to continue like this. Maybe we will need to operate on the forearm before we go to the USA.”

Fausto Gresini “Bravo Doni for the progress made over the weekend and for finishing the race despite the pain. Things can only get better in the next race.”

Team Gresini features heavily in the early history of the Grand Prix of Qatar. The impressive Losail circuit, built on the outskirts of the capital city of Doha, saw team-mates Sete Gibernau and Colin Edwards take a famous one-two in the year of its inauguration (2004) whilst the following year Marco Melandri took second place after a close fight with Valentino Rossi. Toni Elias qualified on pole position in Moto2 for the night race in 2010 whilst in 2011 Marco Simoncelli battled with the very best in MotoGP before finishing fifth.

Doha, the capital of Qatar, is located around 30km from Losail. Located on the coast of the Persian Gulf, it is Qatar's largest city, with over 60% of the nation's population residing in Doha or its surrounding suburbs, and is also the economic centre of the country. Doha also serves as the seat of government of Qatar, which is ruled by Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Doha is home to the Education City, an area devoted to research and education. Doha was the site of the first ministerial-level meeting of the Doha Development Round of World Trade Organization negotiations. The city of Doha held the 2006 Asian Games, which was the largest Asian Games ever held. Doha also hosted the 2011 Pan Arab Games and most of the games at the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. Doha will also host a large number of the venues for the 2022 FIFA World Cup. ( Time Zone +3 GMT Weather (21°C / 28° C, 70° F / 82° F)
