2013 Richmond: Toyota NASCAR Nationwide Race Quotes

Kyle Busch was the first Camry driver to the finish line in the Toyota Care 250 tonight at Richmond International Raceway with a third-place result. Busch led the field twice for a total of 18 laps. Brian Vickers (fourth) and Elliott Sadler (sixth) also registered top-10 finishes. Sadler was at the front of the field once for 18 laps. Parker Kligerman (11th) and Mike Bliss (13th) recorded top-15 finishes. Other Camry drivers in the field included Michael McDowell (22nd), Joe Nemechek (23rd), Hal Martin (24th), Blake Koch (25th), Eric McClure (26th), Alex Bowman (27th), Kenny Wallace (36th) and Jeff Green (40th). In the unofficial point standings, three Camry drivers are in the top-10 -- Sadler (fifth), Vickers (sixth) and Kligerman (eighth).

KYLE BUSCH, No. 54 Monster Energy Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Finishing position: 3rd How was the race? "I thought we had a decent night. Unfortunately, we just didn't quite have enough to hang with those front two -- they were really, really fast. In practice we had no indication of that. I thought we were pretty good. Our car seemed fast and we made some minor changes to it. I guess we kind of dialed ourselves out a little bit you could say. We got up there and instead of having about an eighth-place car, Adam (Stevens, crew chief) and the guys made some really good changes and got us to a third-place car and that's where we ended up. We'll take that -- good day and go onto the next one."

How was the racing overall tonight? "It was good. Certainly there was some tense moments there a few times, but it seemed like it was more so between those two (Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick) and a couple times between Brad (Keselowski) and myself. You're fighting for everything you can get and there's not a whole lot of grip out there, but when there is you try to get what you can out of it. Sometimes there's a little bit of room that guy leaves you and it's just enough to get your nose in there and you can get right up to that guy's left-rear quarter panel and make him a little loose off the corners and you get that, but I thought the racing was good."

Are the cars setup specifically for short runs or long runs? "You basically get what you get. There's times where you could be the best short run car and long run car and you have a pretty dominant day. Other times there are guys that can certainly squirt out a little on a short run, but you can run them back down in the long run. Your tires take either a little to come in or you just don't wear them out as much as those guys do. It's just a product -- it's not necessarily how you set them up, it's a product of what you get."

BRIAN VICKERS, No. 20 Dollar General Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Finishing Position: 4th How did your race car handle tonight? "Just too tight in the center and too loose off. We were going the wrong direction and the guys did a great job making really good changes all day and made this Dollar General Toyota pretty decent then. We knew it would be a little better on exit and we needed the track position. We got a top-five out of it. It was a good points night. I'm happy with it, considering where we started the race. Man, I just want to win one of these races."

How impressive is your team to get you back in the race? "It's good. I'm really proud of the guys. To take a car where we started the weekend and make it that much better going into the race, and take a car at the beginning of the race and make it that much better by the end of the race. The guys did a great job in the pits -- got us all the way back up, got us some good track position. Made good changes on the car all night. We made the most of the night. Really proud of the whole Dollar General team. Still want to win. But, it was a good points night."

ELLIOTT SADLER, No. 11 SportClips Toyota Camry, Joe Gibbs Racing Finishing position: 6th What happened to cause the handling of your car to fall off? "We just got on the splitter a little too hard there at the end and these cars, when you get on the splitter too hard it's just hard to make the front tires turn. Proud of my guys, we led some laps. Great pit stops -- it's just when you get on the splitter too hard it's hard to stay up there with those guys. Not the finish we wanted, but we made some gains today during the race and made some good adjustments and we will move forward from there."

PARKER KLIGERMAN, No. 77 Bandit Chippers Toyota Camry, Kyle Busch Motorsports Finishing Position: 11th

MIKE BLISS, No. 19 Toyota Camry, TriStar Motorsports Finishing Position: 13th

MICHAEL MCDOWELL, No. 00 Hoovey the Movie Toyota Camry Finishing Position: 22nd

JOE NEMECHEK, No. 87 AM/FM Energy Toyota Camry, Nemco Motorsports Finishing Position: 23rd

HAL MARTIN, No. 44 American Yachts Toyota Camry, TriStar Motorsports Finishing Position: 24th

BLAKE KOCH, No. 24 Horizon Entertainment Toyota Camry Finishing Position: 25th

ERIC MCCLURE, No. 14 Hefty/Reynolds Wrap Toyota Camry, TriStar Motorsports Finishing Position: 26th

ALEX BOWMAN, No. 99 SchoolTipLine.com Toyota Camry, RAB Racing Finishing Position: 27th

JEFF GREEN, No. 10 Toyota Camry, TriStar Motorsports Finishing Position: 40th
