Dodge/RCH Racing 'Keys For Success' - Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series - Las Vegas

Each race weekend, Dodge provides insight on the ‘Keys for Success’ for the upcoming Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series race. This week, Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki lead mechanic Tony Berluti provides the keys for tonight’s race at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas.

Trivia Question: RCH Racing’s Broc Tickle has competed in one 450SX Class event at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas. Where did Tickle finish in that Main Event? (Answer Below)?

TONY BERLUTI (Lead Mechanic, No. 20 Broc Tickle Dodge/Sycuan Casino/RCH Racing/Bel-Ray/Suzuki RM-Z450)

Changing Track Conditions: The track was really full of marbles in the untimed practice and the bikes are dancing around on the track. After they put some water on the track, the Heat Races should have some really good traction. Come race time, I think the track is going to be really, really hard (dirt). Tire selection will be key and I think we’ll probably have to play with air pressures.”

Thunderstruck: “They have a really cool section called “Thunder Alley” which is gnarly. You go outside of the track and then come back in and it’s really, really high speed. If you can get a good drive coming out of the alley, you can run down the straightaway at a high rate of speed and make up time.”

Rider Mindset: “Most all the riders will take tonight as just another race and not put too much emphasis on it. It’s the last SX race of the year and if any of the top guys are riding outdoors, they don’t want to get hurt and that will be in the back of their mind. Other guys that are in eighth-to-10th are going to fight for position, go after those spots. Broc (Tickle) has a shot at moving up to ninth (in the point standings) and pass (James) Stewart who’s not racing tonight.”

Adjustments: “Depending on how the track changes, we’ll really pay close attention to whether we have to soften up the front end or not. We’re always looking and analyzing to see if we have to go in a different direction to make sure that Broc is comfortable on the Suzuki.”

Trivia Answer: Tickle was 11th in last year’s season finale at Las Vegas. It snapped his string of seven consecutive top 10s. He finished fourth in his Heat Race.
