Drivers, Celebrities And Popular Mobile Zip Line Part Of Exciting Evening At 'Festival On Main' This Friday

This Friday night’s inaugural Indy Family Foundation “Festival on Main” (#IFFfest) charity spectacular is becoming a “must see” event with the addition of a 200-feet Mobile Zip Line and huge list of celebrities set to attend.

The City of Speedway’s Main Street is set for a variety of entertainment venues and the new Mobile Zip Line, similar to the 2012 Super Bowl’s unique ride, will be featured in the kickoff event of the 2013 Indianapolis 500-Mile Race from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The “Festival” is free to the public and will have something for all ages Friday night. The event will take place “rain or shine.”

In addition, the IFF “Festival” has secured an outstanding list of celebrities for the evening and many of them will participate in the fun “Dunk Tank” exhibit. Local Speedway dignitaries will be part of festivities along with many of the Indy 500 racers.

Among the Indy 500 competitors scheduled to attend the charity affair include recent Brazil race winner James Hinchcliffe, IZOD IndyCar Series champion Ryan Hunter-Reay, Fontana 500-mile race winner Ed Carpenter, 2008 Indy 500 winner Scott Dixon, Marco Andretti, Charlie Kimball, Josef Newgarden, J.R. Hildebrand, E.J.Viso, Sarah Fisher, Sebastien Saavedra, Pippa Mann and several drag racing stars.

All proceeds from Friday’s “Festival on Main” will go to the Indy Family Foundation, a charity that aids those in the motor sports community (regardless of the sanctioning body), who find themselves in financial need due to hardship caused by illness, injury or death.

“The ‘Festival on Main’ is developing into a fantastic event,” said Heather Carpenter, president of the Indy Family Foundation. “We are so pleased with all of the sponsors, partners, celebrities and local Speedway officials who have assisted us in this project. The new addition of the Mobile Zip Line is really the icing on the cake. It will be right down the middle of Main St. We want to thank John Galloway from Spectrum Sports for this donation. For just $10 per person, you can experience the incredible ride of the Zip Line. There will be special rides with the drivers too.”

In addition to the Zip Line and Celebrity Dunk Tank, the “Festival on Main” will include a custom car and motorcycle show, live music, local brew pubs, the popular Food Truck Alliance of Indy and a special “KidZone.”

Among the sponsors for the “Festival” are 500 Automotive, Gregory & Appel Insurance, Tony Stewart Foundation and the Greater Speedway Chamber of Commerce. Other partners include Firestone, Fuzzy’s Vodka, Morgan Lucas Racing, Sun King, Flat 12, Triton, Scout’s, Scratch, MacGenie, Newday, Der Pretzel Wagen, USAC, Mazda Road to Indy, the Food Truck Alliance of Indy and Speedway Police Department and Speedway Fire Department.

The “Festival on Main” is located near the entrance of Indy car racing shops of the Dallara Cars and Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing, only a few blocks from the famed 16th and Georgetown entrance to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

The Dallara Racing Experience “Street Legal” two-seater Indy car will give rides throughout the evening.

The “KidZone” area will include bounce houses, pedal cart races, “paint” your own “Hot Wheels” cars, obstacle course, Sumo wrestling suits, Fire Safety House demonstrations, glitter tattoo stations and face painting. The fee for the “KidZone” will be $10 for an unlimited play wristband and $25 for a “Family Pack” of unlimited play.

Entrants in the custom car and motorcycle show can pre-register vehicles for $25 with event day registration at $35. Entries are available at www.indyfamilyfoundation.com.
