NASCAR Number: 4 (May 13, 2013)

By Reid Spencer NASCAR Wire Service

4: The number of different leaders in Saturday night’s Bojangles’ Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway. Kyle Busch was so dominant for the majority of the race (leading 265 of 367 laps), that only he, polesitter Kurt Busch, race winner Matt Kenseth and Jeff Gordon managed to spend time at the front of the field. The record for fewest leaders at Darlington was two, on May 9, 1964 when only Richard Petty and winner Fred Lorenzen led laps. That was a 301-mile race, as opposed to the 501-mile event on Saturday.
